Basic Entry Tactical Operator Course
Full Description
Prerequisite:  Patrol members; must be currently assigned to SWAT or sponsored by a Troop SWAT team.  There are no prerequisites for outside agencies.

Course Description:  This course is designed to teach the student the fundamentals of operating within a tactical entry team.  During this course, the student will learn:


Pre-Raid Planning
Breaching Tools and Techniques
Team Movement
Officer Down/Basic Medical
Tactical Handgun
Deliberate and Dynamic Entry Techniques
Ballistic Shield Use
Overcoming Obstacles  
Training Safety
Tactical Rifle


This is a dynamic and fast paced, physically demanding class, with minimal down time and long hours.  There is a minimum expected class time of 50 hours during the week.  Training will be primarily conducted off campus, with some meals being in the field.  The training schedule is flexible based on the demands of the class.  However, training will be conducted regardless of the weather, so plan equipment and uniform needs accordingly.  A list of required and suggested equipment is available from the Academy upon request.  

Cost:
$550.00 - tuition and meals
$50.00 per day for lodging

Tuition/Registration Fees:  Registration fees are due 7 business days prior to the start of the class, if not paid by that time the student will not be allowed to attend the course.  Forty-eight (48) hour notice of cancellation is required for full tuition refund.  Exceptions to the refund policy will be made at the discretion of the Director of Training.
