Pedestrian/Cyclist Crash Investigation
Full Description
This five-day program is designed for traffic crash investigators who require additional training in the pedestrian/cyclist field. During this training, the traffic crash investigator will learn to identify and interpret physical evidence specific to the scene, vehicle, and victim. Students will be provided with an understanding of the dynamics and movements of the pedestrian/cyclist involved in the collision. A detailed analysis of the most common equations used in the analysis of pedestrian and cyclist crashes. The training is eligible for ACTAR CEUs.

Topics Include, but not limited to:
• Evidence from the roadway
• Evidence from the vehicle and victim
• Pedestrian/Cyclist Formulas
• Cyclist Dynamics
• Field Testing
• Current Research


Student Learning Outcomes:
• The student will be able to validate test data as it applies to pedestrian/cyclist collisions.
• The student will be able to demonstrate the proper techniques to investigate and analysis a pedestrian/cyclist collision.
• The student will learn the best practices to secure and analyze data from the collision vehicle. and from the scene of the collision.

• The student will have the ability to apply the evidence collected to complete a traffic crash reconstruction.
