Commercial Vehicle Officer Training - 2025 CVE In-Service Passenger Vehicle Inspection (PVI) Refresher - (Troop A)

Full Description: This is the required annual training for North American Standard Inspection for Passenger Vehicle. The training will cover operating authority, hours of service, emergency exits and Out of Service criteria.

This in service training will cover the applicability of passenger carrier vehicles defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, and any exemptions that apply to these vehicles and the operating carriers. The training will also discuss the different types of carrier operations, business and non-business, as well as the operating authority that is required. The 10, 14, and 60/70 hours of service regulations, and how a driver and relief driver must log these hours-of-service regulations will be discussed. Emergency exit requirements, including emergency exit spaces, locations, markings and operations, will be discussed. Lastly, the North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria, and how to document violations found during the inspection process will be covered with the students.
