Brief Description
Outlaw Motorcyle Gangs and the Criminal Connection
Full Description
In the early 1930’s motorcycle clubs formed across the United States.  With the end of World War 2, a small number of those clubs morphed into what law enforcement today calls Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMGs).  This course of instruction provides the history and roots of those early motorcycle clubs through today’s gangsters on two wheels.

In the early 1960’s the regionally dominant California Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, (HAMC), began manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine and other synthetic narcotics (colloquially called Angel Dust and other nicknames) through the California area.  In time, that distribution grew producing criminal operations and massive profits for the HAMC.  That success fueled additional expansion, with an emphasis on advancing their narcotics trade.

By the 1970’s, a cadre of nationally dominant OMGs (including the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, (OMC), the Bandidos Motorcycle Club (BMC), Pagan’s Motorcycle Club (PMC) and the HAMC were firmly established and involved in various levels and criminal schemes and narcotics distribution.  Their profits would fuel growth, leading to legitimate businesses and national expansion into territory that was “controlled” by other dominant OMGs.  As demand for their narcotics increased, their national presence fostered unwanted competition as well as rivalries, which would lead to dire consequences.

In the 1980’s United States OMGs were the number one manufacturer and distributor of methamphetamine.  That changed with the advent and migration of the Mexican drug cartels into the United States.  OMGs found a cheaper way with less risk and began purchasing their product from those cartels.  Those purchases blossomed, leading to connections with national and international drug suppliers.  OMGs continued international expansion fostering those international narcotics distribution networks, as feuds simmered just below the surface.  Local feuds that would lead to global and widespread violence:

In the 1990’s OMGs continued growing internationally, allowing the HAMC to establish themselves as the largest OMG in Canada.  HAMC expansion continued fueling narcotics distribution that enraged rivals like the BMC, and others, who continued to eke out their meager narcotics operations.  Additionally, HAMC expansion allowed exertion and control over Canada’s emerging hydroponic marijuana trade, which lead to a series of “biker wars”:

• Beginning in the early 1990’s, the “Chicago Biker War” between the expanding HAMC into territories held previously by the OMC.  This war saw the OMC deploy the 3rd largest bomb in United States history, before the dispute was quelled.

In the 2000’s global OMG expansion continued and saw OMGs partnering with international drug distribution organizations (DTOs) including Mexican, South American, Middle Eastern and Australian based cartels, in a host of varying criminal operations (that included narcotics and others).

Today in the United States, OMGs utilize violence to protect and/or expand their territory and continuing criminal enterprises.  This two-day course prepares the attendee for those investigations, by immersing the attendee in the current criminal subculture.  By considering their history, criminality, and indicia, each class is regionally structured, enhancing the attendees’ specific training, knowledge and experience, preparing them to successfully investigate “OMGs and Their Narcotics Connection”.
