FBI Ballistics for Law Enforcement
Full Description
Prerequisite: This class is restricted to certified law enforcement officers and lab personnel.

Research staff from the FBI's Ballistic Research Facility (BRF) will provide training on the following items:
1. Development of the FBI Ballistic Research Facility - tragedy transforms the FBI.
2. Performance Perceptions in law enforcement - what do you believe and why, as it related to ammunition, weapons, and body armor?
3. Performance Factors - what really matters vs. what we have always been told that matters?
4. Terminal Ballistics & Wounding - understanding how bullets interact with the human body and the realities of gunfights in law enforcement.
5. Choices & Consequences - what criteria do you have for the selection of ammunition, weapons, and body armor?
6. Open Forum - deep dive into pistol mounted optics, suppressors, and any other weapons, ammunition, and body armor topics.

The ultimate goal is to assist our law enforcement partners with making extremely well-informed decisions on these lifesaving commodities.

Cost:
There is no fee for this class however students will be responsible for their own meals and lodging.

Academy Meal Prices:
$6.00 Breakfast
$8.00 Lunch
$8.00 Dinner

Academy lodging is restricted to MSHP Employees only due to limited availability. Outside agencies will need to book lodging through local hotels.

Note: If the class on the 17th fills up there will be an overflow session for the 18th. Students will be moved to this session based on date of registration.
