Full Description: Prerequisite:  POST Certified Officers only.

Course Synopsis: This course is designed to get the non-swimmer or beginning swimmer more familiar and comfortable in the water.  We will cover floating, treading water, and basic swimming strokes focusing on America Crawl (freestyle) and Breaststroke.

Course length: 16 hours (Monday at 1300 hours to Wednesday at 1200 hours)

Class Size: Limit of 12 students (minimum of 5 students)

Cost:
$0 - tuition and meals
$50 per day for lodging
***Academy lodging is limited for 2025 and will be granted if it is available, if not you will be notified via email and will need to make other arrangements.***

Tuition/Registration Fees:  Registration fees are due 7 business days prior to the start of the class, if not paid by that time the student will not be allowed to attend the course.  Forty-eight (48) hour notice of cancellation is required for full tuition refund.  Exceptions to the refund policy will be made at the discretion of the Director of Training.

Continuing Education Hours:
16 hours of Skill Development

Prerequisites: Applicants must be commissioned peace officers. Please provide POST#
