Prerequisite:  Basic Law Enforcement Training

Course Description:  The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control host this training at the Academy.  The program provides in-depth instruction in the process and techniques that apply to all aspects of criminal investigation.  Topics include crime scene investigation, sex crimes investigations, digital forensics, child abuse investigation, death investigation, investigative resources, legal aspects, interview and interrogation, and case management.

Course Instructors:  Classes are instructed by numerous experts to include Captain Everett Babcock of the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department; Randolph County, Missouri Prosecuting Attorney Stephanie Luntsford; STAT (State Technical Assistance Team) Investigations Manager Kimberly Grebner; Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab Director Brian Hoey; Corporal Patrick Sublette of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Digital Forensics Investigative Unit; Captain Steven Wilhoit and Scott Rawson of the Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control.

Who Should Attend:  Recently assigned investigative officers and officers from smaller departments that require an officer to manage criminal investigations from beginning to end.  Patrol officers involved with, or interested in, criminal investigation should also attend.

Cost:  
$375 - tuition and meals
$45 per day for lodging

Tuition/Registration Fees:  Registration fees are due 7 business days prior to the start of the class, if not paid by that time the student will not be allowed to attend the course.  Forty-eight (48) hour notice of cancellation is required for full tuition refund.  Exceptions to the refund policy will be made at the discretion of the Director of Training.
